Twitter Vs. Facebook

Hannah Badger

For many students social networking is an extremely important part of everyday life. The ever so popular Facebook site may have more competition with Twitter concerning the Burris community.
Twitter allows people to update what they are doing instantly and allows their “followers” to see what they are up to that moment. It consists of basically what one would consider status updates on Facebook. Also it does not have all of the extra features that Facebook does such as games, trivia, groups, and events. The fact that Twitter is simple may add to the appeal to Facebook users.
Many students have created a Twitter account in the last couple of months, and twitter users are noticing. Faulkner Allocco, a Burris senior, and a five-month Twitter user has noticed the change in students on Twitter, “It seems like there are a lot more Burris kids on twitter the last couple of months,” she said.
Twitter also allows users to follow celebrities. The site verifies the celebs so you know that you are following the actual celebrity and not an impersonator. For example the recently popular Charlie Sheen has tweeted “charliesheen
