An Improvement From Last Year: Economics Challenge

Burris came up short in the Econ challenge on Tuesday April 12. The team consisted of seniors Kelsey Carr, Kendra Carr and juniors Corey Regan and Courtney Harnish. They competed against big name schools including Fishers and Carmel.

“Considering that we did not study very much prior to the challenge and the other schools prepared the whole year we did pretty well,” said senior Kelsey Carr. The team was only 70 points behind the second place team, which in the econ challenge is only about seven questions.

“We defiantly did better then usual, it was an improvement from years past, I hope we can continue to improve and get better next year,” said economics teacher Bradly Canada who accompanied the students on Tuesday.

Although the team did not win anything as a whole senior Kelsey Carr and junior Corey Regan both won Subway gift cards for answering questions correctly in the practice bowl. “Over all it was fantastic! We all had a lot of fun and we worked really hard. I would definitely do it again,” said Kelsey Carr.
