Gas Prices

Jordan Swoape

If we thought gas prices couldn't get any worse, we've again been proven wrong. From just January to April gas prices nationwide rose 20%. Ranging as high as $4.32 in Hawaii and low as $3.46 a gallon in Wyoming. These prices aren't unfamiliar as they take us back to the all time highs in 2008.
The worst part is summer hasn't reached the nation which raises the question how bad will prices be in the summer? Obviously the prices affect us all but what about faculty, students and parents who travel from places as far as Winchester and Hagerstown to reach Burris?
It's definitely taken a toll on the field trips taken out of town at Burris as the prices for buses has become extremely expensive due to the already high price it takes to fill up a bus gas tank.
Certainly these ridiculous prices have affected sporting teams as the Burris baseball team has relied on parents and coaches to transport the players to games.
Senior Austin Quinn said, "Yeah the prices of gas are too much so I alternate on days I drive and days my mom take me to cut down on wasting so much money."
