Burris baseball is currently over their heads with make up games due to poor weather. Since the season has begun the team has struggled to be able to even practice outside because of all the rain. Weeks ahead have been packed with games which hurts the team physically because of the lack of rest for the team. This coming week they have five games in six days.
Not only does the rain affect the players physically it affects how they do in each game. The team is in desperate need of practice to help clean up little problems they have but can't do so because of the lack of rest and practice. "It seems like even when our games are canceled or we just have scheduled practices we always seem to end up in the gym instead of the field." said outfielder Lucas Parsons. The players use gym time to practice pitching and batting but those are only a few of the problems they have.
The teams average of errors per game has reduced drastically over the past few games which is an upside to everything. "We play differently on the field because each time we get on it, it feels like it's a new experience because we haven't had that much practice on it." said freshman Johnny Norris. The players have used what time they get on the field for practice and the 5 games they've played to clean up on their skills.
It has been a very difficult season for the Owls Baseball team. "I didn't really think it would be this big of a struggle for us but we're getting better so hopefully things will turn around." said sophomore Caleb Pine. The coaches and players fingers are crossed that they rain passes and they can get onto the field and clean up their skills.
