We find ourselves counting down the days to Prom, and many are in a rush to get ready for the big night. Students are finding the proper attire for the event. Many girls are driving out to Indianapolis to f ind prom dresses, since many have not found much of a selection in Muncie.
"I tried looking around Muncie at the different stores for a dress, but they really don't offer much so i drove up to Indianapolis to Key Stone Fashion Mall and found a much wider selection," Celeste Alexander, Junior. Molly Boylan, Junior, tells me about her experience looking for a dress. " I didn't expect it to be so difficult, but i found out Muncie does not offer many selections for prom dresses. I was able to drive up to Castleton Mall near Indianapolis and the market down there for dresses was a lot better." Guys seem to have it easier because they typically order a tux to match their dates dress.
The proper attire isn't the only thing needed to prepare for prom. Many girls are scheduling their hair and nail appointments for the event. " I scheduled a nail appointment a couple days before prom, and a hair appointment the day of prom because you really need to schedule these things in advance because the salons and studios are pretty booked up during this time of the year," says Kara Stewart, Junior. Couples are also ordering their flowers for prom, and those a usually scheduled a week or two in advance, but aside from preparing for the appearance at prom the sophomores, juniors, and seniors are working overtime. There is much to get done.
The Junior class is planning the prom and paying for most of the prom. The Juniors are in charge of the space, food, decorations, music, and etc. The Senior class is in charge of planning after prom, but as of right now we currently have to event planned after prom. The sophomores then volunteer their time to come help work our prom and take tickets. It's a big event and many are excited for the day to come on April 16th.
